A Cheque Lands ‘Jam Side Up’ in Seascale By Mike Fulker |
The Jam Side Up Jazz Club is a free forum for players and
singers, young and old to have some old fashioned fun, playing together. It
has been running now This wonderful gift will enable the group to introduce much more variety into its play list, with hundreds of new pieces to attack! (And we will not have to huddle around 2 precious music stands!!). The pictures show Eileen Eastwood, chair of the Seascale Parish Council, and the Mayor of Copeland, Keith Hitchen, presenting the cheque to Alan Whitham, chairman of the Jam Side Up Jazz Club and a few other images of the fun had by all! (Did anyone know that Keith could play??) The music played by the members of the club, during the evening was appreciated by the audience and a great Christmas Party was had by all. The Jam Side Up Jazz Club was set up to enable anyone to join in and Jam, but it particularly wants to encourage the less accomplished musicians to use the opportunity to play in front of a friendly audience. This experience enables all concerned to expand their repertoire, whilst giving the more competent musicians the chance to network with others. Certainly also it is a great night out in a friendly, comfortable local environment where audience and musicians alike, can have a great time together. The Club greatly appreciates this support from the local community and wishes to let you know that everyone is welcome at our events. Thanks from the whole club, to you all.
