The Phoenix Youth Project along with many of its
young people are organising their fourth Fun For All Day inside
Cleator Moor Civic Hall and outside on Cleator Moor Market Square on
Saturday 7th August 2010 between 1pm and 5pm.
On the day there will be numerous activities on offer including, a
mobile climbing wall, arts and crafts, face painting, circus acts
and workshops, fire shows, rodeo bull, animal show, assault course,
coconut shy, a barfly and giant slide, and much more. We will also
have the local fire and rescue service attending with a caged
football, as well as the library service and St Johns Ambulance in
attendance on the day providing fun activities as well as
publicizing their work.
Virtually the entire day is free of charge with only a small charge
for refreshments and face painting. The aim of the event is to bring
the local community together to have fun. The day will provided a
great opportunity to celebrate the local area whilst bringing the
generations together to have fun and mix with one another to break
down the barriers that exist between the generations. Young people
that attend The Phoenix Youth Project will be helping to run the
day.
The Phoenix Youth Project is always looking for further support from
the community through seeking volunteers to help with the running of
the three youth centres in Cleator Moor, Frizington and Moor Row.
Frizington Youth Centre is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
evenings. Moor Row Centre is open on Wednesday evenings. Whilst
Cleator Moor Youth and Community Centre is open every Tuesday,
Thursday and Friday evening. All evening sessions with the exception
of Thursday evening at Frizington and Friday evening at Cleator Moor
run between 6pm and 9pm, with 8 – 12 year olds attending between 6pm
and 7:30pm and 13 - 19 year olds attending between 7:30pm and 9pm.
The other two sessions run between 6pm and 8pm for 13 – 19 year olds
only. For further details please contact Paul Rowe, Youth

Editor’s note
This article is particularly important to us because we have been so
warmly welcomed in Cleator Moor despite the fact that most of our
stories have been based in Egremont. We just needed more
correspondents on the Moor.
Our circulation was never under our control. We heard of people who
complained that they were not getting ET and had to do something
about it.
Just to give you an idea: when our circulation was only 9000 Sam and
I were making deliveries to Cragge Road and ran out of papers. Sam
said, “You know if we printed another 300 papers we could finish
this estate.”
