Police Reports
Mark Bikes for Security
Copeland police will be holding events in the Egremont and
surrounding areas after Christmas offering people the chance to have
their bicycles marked, below is a list of times/dates where we will
be, so anyone who has received a bike for Christmas can come along
and have their bike marked and placed on our register, having your
bike marked will enable us to trace an owner if a bike is
unfortunately stolen and recovered. Without the mark when we recover
stolen bikes a lot of the time they end up going to auction or
destroyed as we can’t find an owner to them. Take advantage of this
free service and come along. There is no limit to how many bikes you
can bring.

Cumbria Community Messaging
Police are appealing for members of the public to sign up to Cumbria
Community Messaging.
CCM gives members of the public the opportunity to receive messages
and information from Cumbria Constabulary, Cumbria Fire and Rescue
Service, Trading Standards, Cumbria County Council, and Cumbria
Neighbourhood Watch Association.
It is a free service and there are no contracts or costs.
You can register online by going to
www.cumbriacommunitymessaging.co.uk.
If you don’t have internet access you can either get a friend or
family member to register on your behalf or you can call into your
local police station to get a registration form.
Once you have registered to CCM, you can receive messages either by
email, text, or phone.
If at any time you change your mind, you can unsubscribe from the
service.
By registering with CCM you can keep in touch with matters that
concern you and your community.
This system is a great way for the police to promote vigilance, and
to appeal for information relating to crime.
We would encourage people to register to CCM and help us to keep
Cumbria safe.
If anybody has any questions they would like to ask about CCM they
can either visit the website
www.cumbriacommunitymessaging.co.uk
or contact PCSO 5292 Peter Bradley at Egremont Police Station or by
calling our non-emergency number 0845 3300247
Please note that from 12th December 2011 the non-emergency number
for Cumbria Constabulary will be replaced with 101. Until then
please continue to use the old number.
